The Aerie

The Aerie recording studio is perched on a hilltop in rural southeast Travis County, Texas, just minutes from downtown Austin.

Situated on four acres in a park-like setting, the Aerie was established in 1999 by veteran producer Mark Addison as a place to create and record music in a relaxed atmosphere, eschewing the claustrophobic confines of the modern recording studio.

The control room is built into the rear portion of a 1950’s farmhouse and features a vintage 1979 Quad Eight Pacifica 24 input console. Accessed through a breezeway, the studio itself has a 14 foot ceiling and is stocked with vintage keyboards, amps, guitars and musical toys.

It’s a studio environment that’s human-scaled, relaxed and unpretentious. A comfortable place to create, complete with friendly dogs, stunning sunsets and a 360-degree view of Austin and environs.
